Sooo…I started this blog just to record my artistic/crafty adventures but I have been broadening the scope for a while now to include personal and family updates. For an introvert, it is kind of hard to find the energy to keep both a blog and a facebook profile updated so I decided to delete my facebook account. It means I spend a lot less time on the computer, which is a good thing. Facebook took a lot of time out of every day and I was getting tired of weeding through ads and social/political debates to see the family or friends pictures and updates that I really cared about. I’ll miss seeing all the niece and nephew pictures but I am already enjoying the change.
On another note, yesterday we all went to my parent’s house for Thanksgiving along with my brother and his family. It was a great time with good food and fun games! I always love Thanksgiving because it reminds me of how much we have to thankful for, big and small. I asked Vesper what she was thankful for and she said, “God.” It is so wonderful to see her learning more about God and how He is already a big part of her life! Another thing to be thankful for. 🙂
Today, the day after Thanksgiving, is the day to put up the tree! Nana (my mom) and my niece, Elise, came over this morning to help us decorate! I forgot to take pictures while they were here, but Vesper was kind enough to pose with the tree:
It turned out beautiful and crowded with ornaments as usual! Now I am debating whether I should risk putting presents under the tree early or not. With toddlers in the house you never know what will happen!
And I love having the tree in front of our big window this year! Lots of thanks to my wonderful husband for helping me figure out the furniture moving and lugging in all the Christmas boxes from the shed! The kids are very excited to be able to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas and read all the Christmas books again. And they love playing with their nativity playset.
Meet the Austins by Madeleine L’Engle – The first book in the Austin family series which is my absolute favorite series by this author, closely followed by the Wind in the Door series. If you have not read any of them yet you really should!
